Oklahoma City Thunder Center/ Power Forward Chet Holmgren will miss his entire rookie campaign after sustaining a lisfranc injury in his foot at a Pro-Am event in Seattle while guarding LeBron James. The injury stems from torn ligaments in the foot, requiring season-ending surgery and rehabilitation.

Holmgren was showing out this summer; the 7-foot-1, 195-pounder averaged 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds in five games for the Thunder earlier this year at the Las Vegas Summer League. However, injury concerns that held the Orlando Magic from drafting Chet first this past summer have caught up to him fairly early.
Oklahoma City will have to wait a while longer before seeing their #2 overall pick on the court with the likes of young stars Josh Giddey and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In addition, the Thunder are now relatively thin and limited at the Center position this season; atop their depth chart lies Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who averaged 7.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during 22 minutes last season.
